The Reverend James W. Lively

clergy1A true cradle Episcopalian, Jim was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and baptized and confirmed at Trinity Episcopal Church. At age thirteen, his family moved to Florida where he attended Winter Park High School, Florida State University, and University of Central Florida, graduating with a B.A. in Economics.

Following college, Jim worked in corporate training and was an administrative manager for an Orlando Hospital system. In 1999 the family moved to Sewanee, TN where Jim attend seminary at the School of Theology at the University of the South.

Father Jim began his ordained ministry as the Assistant Rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Ormond Beach, FL. He then moved to Grosse Pointe, MI serving as the Associate Rector of Christ Church Grosse Pointe. Father Jim served as the Rector of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Clermont, FL from 2006 through 2011 when he accepted the call to become the Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Salem, Virginia.
