Children & Youth
Nursery
We are delighted to offer a nursery for the youngest among us in the South Wing
of the church. Nursery is held during the 10:00 a.m. service. Filled with lots
of color and lots of fun toys and games, the nursery is a place where our young
children can continue developing social skills and enjoy playing in a safe,
loving environment.

Youth The Cherubs &
Carolers Choir meets each Sunday morning at 9:00 as a part of the Sunday School
program. Children ages 3-years thru the 2nd grade are welcome and
invited.
Sunday School is offered for children pre-school aged (4 years old) through 5th
grade, utilizing the Living the Good News curriculum from Church Publishing.
Classes meet on Sundays from September through May beginning at 9:45 a.m. in the
Post House; the children and teachers join the service at the Offertory. Each
Sunday opens with a moment of prayer and music, during which time the children
bring offerings to give to a specific organization. In the fall of 2011
the children worked with the congregation to raise over $2,000 for Heifer International.
The spring offering will go to Salem Ecumenical Ministries to help with their
ACT Packs program. The
children also enjoy parties throughout the year, including a trip through the
Shepherd's Shop at the end of the year where prizes may be “purchased” with
tickets they've earned for attendance and participation. Many volunteers give of
their time and talents to teach and serve our children, and there is plenty of
fun to go around!
Youth in grades 6 – 12 are invited to join the SPY youth program. No formal
curriculum is used for SPY, but plenty is learned through experience, fellowship
and service!
