Our Groups and Guilds

The groups and guilds at St. Paul's offer parishioners opportunities to be in community together in a variety of ways.

Men's Club
The Men's Club meets the second Thursday of the month, September through May. Meetings begin with a 6pm social followed by a meal at 6:30pm. The program begins at 7pm and closes out the evening. Reservations can be made by contacting the church office. The cost of the meal is $7. All men of the church are welcome.

Our May meeting is unique from the rest of our monthly meetings.  In the month of May we invite the ladies of the Parish to join us for a night of special music and dinner.

The Guild of Martha and Mary
The Guild has been in existence since 1988. The purpose of the Guild is threefold: learning and sharing, service to our church and our community, and fellowship and support for each other. We meet on the fourth Wednesday, September through May, and have a variety of speakers and programs. We have daytime and evening meetings to accommodate our membership. Volunteer work in our community includes a monthly commitment of the first Tuesday to work in the RAM Day Shelter, serving lunch. We are responsible for laundering the church kitchen linens July through December, helping with a Lenten Potluck Dinner, and special receptions as they arise. We sponsor the TAP Angel tree, and give a Christmas party at the TAP center with goodies to eat and a visit from Santa and his elves. We also use the Guild pledges to shop for needy families in our community at Christmas, and we buy Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for families in the community. To promote literacy in our community, the Guild purchases a book for each 1st grader at G.W. Carver Elementary School, annually. In addition we support various local and diocesan charities. Each year we have a Birthday Party, a Christmas Party, and a Summer Picnic. Guild members take a fall day trip and an overnight trip in the spring. We welcome all St. Paul’s women.

Guild II
Guild II meets once a month, September through May. Our regular meeting time is the third Monday of the month at 10:30am. We meet at the church with the exception of a festive Christmas celebration and a “Spring Fling” luncheon. We begin our meetings with devotions followed by a program, usually by a speaker on a topic of local interest. Our business meetings are brief. We ask each member to bring an item for the Salem Food Pantry to each meeting. We support various church and local humanitarian projects. We also host a potluck dinner during Lent and help with all receptions where we are needed. We warmly welcome any and all women of St. Paul's and their friends.

Foyers Program
The purpose of the Foyers Program is to have parishioners, including children, meet and socialize in small groups. Each group meets on a periodic basis from October through July for a meal and conversation in each other's homes. The intent of the program is not to have the groups become permanent but to meet and socialize with as many different parishioners as possible over a period of time. The program promotes fellowship among parishioners and strengthens the parish community.
